Save Those Dollars

Weddings are big business and cost A LOT of money. The average Aussie wedding now sits around at least $53k (according to Wedded Wonderland)! So of course, if you cut out nearly every element that adds to that cost, and elope, you are gonna save a bunch of cash! You might prefer to spend that sort of money on other things such as travel with your partner or buying a house.

Low-key Limelight

Not everyone enjoys having the spotlight on them but let’s face it, when you get married, the spotlight is rightfully all over you. If you are a bit uncomfortable by that level of attention, eloping is a great way to avoid all that. It’s just you, your partner, the celebrant (possibly Elvis if you’ve gone to Vegas), a couple of witnesses and that’s about it.

No Guest List Drama

One big headache all impending married couples deal with is the guest list! It can be really tough to decide on whom you want to share in your special day. It can also be a catalyst for dramas amongst family and friends, and when you’re getting married, you want to be dealing with as little drama as possible.
