Congratulations Evie & Tom for winning the most chilled out, easy going wedding of 2019! Bombo is such amazing location! These two woke up, one went for a massage with their bestie, the other went for a skate with mates and both met at the end of a beautiful whale lookout to make it all legal! We headed off down past Kiama to Bombo Quarry for some epic location shots. Check them out!
Gentleman! You’ve set the bar on any other wedding for the next 10 years until someone invents some sort of awesome wedding planning machine!
The layout was Q station, Manly, and was a spot! Surrounded by amazing nature, old and some creepy historical buildings, Ben and Chris were set to tie the knot!
The amazing duel aisle ceremony was freaking amazing and hosted by one of the best celebrants out (Ben Ager Uber-Celebrant Sydney), with hilarious speeches by a bunch of B&C’s loved one’s and a detailed comedy act on how the two groom-to-be’s met! Oh, and I forgot to mention, the fellas left the planning up to their friends and family! They had no idea what was going to happen which is such an awesome idea!
They drank wine during the ceremony, hugged, kissed, said “I do”, made out in front of around 100 people before being lifted and thrown around, which I’m sure got the wine pumping through the blood… Haha!
We wandered around some more, took 10,000 more photos around Q Station and then it was time for the reception. Sunray’’s hit the windows creating beautiful rays of light like god didn’t give a shit about it being a same sex marriage and he was ready to party! (Haha! Sorry, I had too)
I asked the fellas to jump up for a quick photo on the dance floor while the beautiful light was harsh and golden. One thing lead to another and the fellas started having a little dance while The White Tree band was jamming in the background, a few more guests got up, then a few more… I looked back at the tables and EVERYONE WAS UP! I pulled out some of my trusty canned smoke that I use to get sunrays popping and it was honestly magical! Like a scene from footloose! I was waiting for Kevin Bacon to come bursting through the doors! Haha.
The rest of the night went smooth and I can’t thank these two legendary gents for having me along to capture their big day!
I’m just a South Coast Cronulla boy, but the north shore/Manly got my respect that one night! Can’t wait to see you guys in 10 years for vowel renewals!

This Woolwich Wedding was an amazing one!
When I got to Tom’s house to capture the boys getting ready on wedding day morning, there was no stress, just good vibes, easy going mates and a little bit of nerves to help kick off the day… I mean if you’re not nervous on your wedding day, you have to be a robot! Haha.
Effy’s house was a little different however! It was alot more wild and there was food being hand fed between family members! I love experiencing new cultures traditions, and this wedding sure taught me a lot!
The church was located in Surry Hills at an amazingly elegant church (Cathedral of The Annunciation of Our Lady). The ceremony was intense, beautiful and moving to say the least.
I find at wedding that as soon as the ceremony is done, both parties change and there’s this massive sigh of “IT’S DONE! YES” relief, haha! From here it was onto one of the best Sydney locations I’ve shot! Woolwich Deck, Sydney which hosted amazing city views, an old industrial area where most of the location shots are taken below, an open bar and a solid DJ pumping some awesome tunes!
We caught some final pink tones in the sunset, had a twilight dance, got the speeches out of the way and then it was onto some wild dancing and heavy drinking (My kind of party!).
Thanks so much for having me along to capture and tell the story of your wedding day Effy & Tom! It was freaking awesome!

Deckhouse is an amazing venue that caters for all sorts of weddings from high end Sydney weddings, to more chilled out, live music, ocean loving folks! If you’re getting married in Sydney or on the NSW coast and need a solid venue, Deckhouse is a top pick!
What a day down Cronulla Beach and Kurnell Mangroves for Colette & Karl’s pre-wedding shoot!
Rach & Dan’s Wollongong Beach Wedding was such an amazing day that went way too quick!
From roaming around Wollongong Beach, crossing river mouths connecting to the ocean and hanging out in the greenery around the surf, we ended up at the old lighthouse and cliffs which were super pretty at sunset!
From there it was an awesome entrance into North Wollongong Hotel for the wedding reception, some heavy drinking and dancing! Good timesssss!
Thank you R&D for having me along to capture your special day and being so cruise-y about running around in the sand and surf! You’re legends!
Look, I'm not being picky, but I need more Norse Viking weddings in The Blue Mountains now people! NOWWW! 😂
I just want to repeat photographing this wedding like Bill Murray in Groundhog day!
Cliffside Ceremony looking over the whole of The Blue Mountains, Barn receptions that felt like you walked into a The Viking Age, which randomly turned into a full on dance club with a bit of furniture and art flipping, snow cloaks, fresh mountain air, freaking awesome guests and an amazing connection between two legends that you can feel radiating from a mile away!
Thank you SO much or having me along to capture your day, Sterling & Sam! It was such a pleasure.
Bendooley Estate, Berrima! What an AMAZING location, and one that i've been waiting to capture for too long now!
We had snow, kangaroos, Nordic ceremony tunes, an awesome uncles who gives Tom Waits a run for his money with some impressive vocal chords, the prettiest Aussie landscape ever and two unique legends pretty darn in love! ❤
Usually, you'll find me around the Southern Highlands or Wollongong capturing weddings on the beaches, in nature or on beautiful properties like Bendooley. Sadly it was on my bucket list to photograph for years and finally, Jessie & Justin made it happen! Yiewww! Thank you so much, folks!
Enjoy the images legends!

Emma & Cameron's wedding was such a breath of fresh air, literally!
The whole day revolved around a beautiful little farmy type location called The Hillview in Yarramalong! The had a huge cow who basically sat on a hill day and wouldn't come down for photos, even when we pulled grass out of the ground for her, whistled and made loud, obnoxious "moo-s"... I was personally upset at the cow, but I didn't let it spoil my day!
We starting in a beautiful little cottage surrounded by Emma's loved ones... Cameron was "Late as usual" was heard numerous times in an angry, bride-to-be manner, but he was on time, and it was just the wedding jitters kicking in, haha! Sorry Em! Haha!
Emma and Cameron locked eyes down a beautiful carpeted wedding aisle with floating windows and a beautiful pair of antique doors as their back drop. It was honestly so freaking pretty! I personally love stuff like that! About 20 minutes later, they made out in front of a crowd and everyone cheered!
We roamed around the farm, got some beautiful location shots, and then the "Oh craps" came out when it started raining softly, but then the sun opened up and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The light, the sunshow, the soft green grass! Thanks nature!
From there, the drinks flowed, good music played I stuck around for a really nice rendition of his & Emma's favourite song. It was pretty rad and Emma had a few tears, and then it was time for me to leave, even though I just wanted to grab a beer and sit next to the raging fire!
Thanks sooooo much for having me along to capture your Hunter Valley wedding (I think it's in the Hunter, if not, it's bloody close)! The hillview rocked and so did you two legends!
Stay awesome!
Joel
G'day Humans,
I just noticed I hadn't put this wedding blog up as a blog and thought I'd get right on it...
What can I say about these two other than that they're complete legends and were an absolute pleasure to hang with for their wedding shoot!
I personally hate the word client and my goal is to never be just "The Photographer". Usually, by the end of a wedding, I'm having a boogie on the D-floor with the bride and groom or having a solid chat too Grandpa about film cameras and how awesome the B&G are!
With Ria & Brandon, it was the same! Travel chats, a little adventure on their wedding day and amazing locations!
WHAT HAPPENED?
A little mountain treck down to Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains was one of the best things I'd done all year. From there we headed over to Lincoln's Rock in The Blue Mountains to get some epic sunset photographs. We also climbed into a freaking cave and it was amazing, but a touch sketchy with at least 40km/h winds and nothing but a drop below!
I can't thank these two enough for having me along to capture their special day. It means the world to me to even just be chosen to create my couples art, let alone hang out with two amazing people deep in the wild!
Thanks for reading!
Joel
Updated for 2019! A big thank you for showing this blog post some serious love people! I never thought it would blow up like it has, but there’s been 1000’s of photos and views. Keep a look out as i’m going over my blogs this week and totally re-vamping them!
Cheers legends!
I'm not big on writing things for images and would prefer them to do the talking, so here's a little preview of Karen, David and I hanging out down Bathers Pavilion, Balmoral on their wedding day!
P.S.
I've missed autum wedding so much! More please! Haha!
I find myself quite often in the middle of nowhere photographing people on the side mountains and cliff tops. This week was half of that, with a beautiful Greek Orthodox Ceremony and some beautiful, moody beach vibes!
The ceremony was gorgeous and held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church Wollongong in Wollongong. I was actually in awe how beautiful it was there. The hymns were out of this world amazing too and it was such a pleasure and yet so intense to listen too at the same time. I've never felt like that often in life!
Then we headed over to Austinmer Cliffs for some location shots. We even saw a shark! The location was beautiful and the set, even though there wasn't much cloud, left a link pastel pink in the sky.
The reception was as expected! Awesome music, wild dancing and good people.
I want to thank Amanda & Ross for having me along to capture their special day. It always means alot to be chosen to capture a wedding, and I can't thank them enough!
Having grown up around nature and the beaches of Cronulla, I've always enjoyed the outdoors and nature!
Anne & Jarrod's wedding day was everything I enjoy in life, from bush walks, snakes to having a laugh and a boogie!
A big thank you to A & J for having me along to capture their special day!

At around 8am yesterday morning I met up with Danielle on the morning of her wedding! We jumped in the car and went on a little adventure to a hiking trail in the local national park.
Standing in the middle of a forest by himself, his eyes closed and nobody around to see was Jason, Danielle's Hubby-to-be at the time! He got there around 15 minutes earlier than us and I can only imagine the anticipation and nerves that would have been smashing him! Poor bloke!
This was to be Danielle & Jason's first look... I quickly ran up to him to check how he was going! The bush was pretty cold yesterday morning, but I think the anxiety was kicking in as Jas was complaining about the heat and had a little sweat going on, haha!
I then gave the OK for Danielle to come walking up and it was a really precious moment. Writing a post on Facebook could never do the mornings/days beauty justice, so here are a few photos in the meantime! Thanks so much for having me along, Dani & Jason to capture your special day!
Feel free to tag your mates! www.joelquinnphotography.com for the blog post soon!
Heading down Nowra way from Sydney, Cronulla is always a fun little road trip, and the destination was this beautiful beach house ceremony and wedding.
Yesterday I had the pleasure to photograph a beautiful beach-y wedding ceremony at a cute little beach house a few hours South of Sydney in Culburra.
Sally & Rob then took me to one of their favorite local spots where they go for a beer and some quiet time. It was absolutely perfect for wedding photographs! Someone also may of got pee'd on and there was a lot of butt grabbing in photos. I mean a LOT! haha!!!
It's funny... with the immense population of the world, how too people so suited and perfect for each other meet. You're special you two, good job finding each other (At Northies... Haha)!
Thanks for being so fun and easy to photograph! <3
Joel
How freaking good was yesterday! If It was appropriate to swear, I would because I had so much fun.
Emma and Brok's wedding was full of little surprises that I loved, from a pineapple in Emma's Boquet to a cardboard cut out of a giant cat and an awesome grandma doing shots! Good times, haha.
Mount Keira played the backdrop for what was an amazingly pretty ceremony and reception. I love shooting on this mountain and feel so at home! Great choice you two!
A big thanks for having me along to capture your precious moments!
SHAKA!
Joel
Hey Friends!
Just a quick update! I recently moved to Cronulla Beach, so i've had a tiny little delay for a week! The internet and PC is back up and running but, so I want to thank you all for the little set back.
If you're ever in the area and would like a chat about your wedding, or want to grab a beer, don't be a stranger! :)
Much love,
Joel xoxoxo

A few shots from Ashleigh & Mitch's wedding day!
Amy, Ben and I took a walk around Centenntial Park, Sydney to get some super earthy and natural couple/maternity shots! I'm pretty happy with the results and they seem over the moon!
