Georgia + Anton | Cronulla Wedding Photography

For the past few years, the wedding world was a rough, wild one, where I would be trying to get work all over the place in the photography industry. After shooting quite a few weddings, things opened up to me and I built a nice little portfolio of images.

I started to be a little picky with where I shot and what I put up online. I focused on only natural weddings and from there, my folio went from churches to beaches, cliffsides, vinyards, overseas and everywhere wild!

Now i'm finding it hard to keep up with E-mails, editing, and general workflow! I absolutely love it & can't be any more grateful to my awesome couples from the past and future! <3

Here are a couple of shots from Georgia & Anton's pre-wedding shoot in Cronulla/Kurnell.

Wollongong Wedding Photography | Going for a fly!

I took a few fun little drone images on the weekend that I thought I would share here! Not everything I photograph is wedding related, but it usually either involves epic landscapes or awesome people!

What a day this was! Fresh air, the smell of grapes and an old grand tree!

I love shooting on the south coast of Sydney. You get a mixture of the surf, fresh air, bushland and vinyards. We're a lucky bunch of people us NSW folk!

I CRASHED MY DRONE!

And the 2nd post of my blog begins.

As the title says, I crashed my drone this week. My $2000 drone. Yep, the pricey one... All is good but! I've had a new drone arrive and i'll be back in the sky in no time!

I thought i'd sort of try and discuss my "Personal Style"... Whatever that means.  Basically, what I used to do before weddings was take really, I guess moody, emotive & personal portraits of friends, models, girlfriends, landscapes... pretty much anything, I could find that I liked the look of. It's safe to say I wasn't in the best mindset in my early 20's and it showed in my creativity.

My moodier style isn't for everyone, especially in weddings, but I love to add the occasional emotive, moody look into my amazing couples wedding images. Little hints of a darker energy, which in my opinion can be just as beautiful as a wild, airy sunset.

The First Blog... EVER!

My friends!

This is my first blog ever, so I thought I'd introduce myself! I'm Joel! A 28-year-old, NSW South Coast Wedding Photographer from the Cronulla Beach area!

The goal of this space is to give you more of a look at the real Joel. The Joel who isn't just the cheeky, easy going, smiley wedding photographer, but I guess a look at a 'kind of' young man evolving in his art, style, and creativity each year, along with the business.

I feel like there are so many fake personas on social media nowadays who just use cheeky tactics to grab people attention. It's good marketing, but false marketing. Nowadays it's so easy to evolve into something or someone that they're not on social media, just to build some silly name for yourself. My goal is to be as real as I can here, every day, love it or hate it!

My blog will be a mixture of weddings and personal photography work, which is usually a darker type of portrait or landscape photography. Basically just picture the opposite of a bright, airy wedding and that's what I go for. Don't ask me why, butI just love the contrast between the two genres of photography!

I'll be throwing unique content that can't be seen on my social media here weekly so don't hesitate to check out my FB page, but if you want the hidden goods, come check out the blog weekly! I hope you enjoy my art and life much as I enjoy creating it.
